If you trouble cannot be solved, please unplug the power cable immediately and contact your Marantz
authorized dealer or service center.

The unit does not
turn on.
The AC power cable is improperly
connected.
Check the AC power cable
connection.

Make sure the AC power cable is
fi rmly inserted into the unit.
Make sure the power plug is fi rmly
inserted into the power outlet.
There is no sound.
The input cables are not fully
connected.
Check the connection of the input
cables between this unit and the
source component (CD player, etc.),
referring to the connection diagram.

The input selector is in the wrong
position.
Set the input selector to the input
terminal to which the source
component (CD player, etc.) is
connected.

The volume is too low. Adjust the volume.
The mute function has been

Cancel the mute function.
Headphones are connected to the

does not localize
correctly and is
unnatural.
• The polarity (+/–) of some
speaker cables is incorrect.
• Speaker position and speaker
cable connections are incorrect.
Unplug the AC power cable
and check the speaker cable
connections.

The STANDBY
indicator is blinking
slowly (twice a
second).
• The speaker cable has short-
circuited.
• The unit was played at a higher
volume than it was designed to
be played.
• You are using speakers with
lower impedance than required.
• The unit was placed and used on
a narrow rack or similar confi ned
space and became overheated
inside.
• Unplug the AC power cable
and check the speaker cable
connections.
• Turn the volume down a bit.
• Always use speakers with the
required impedance.
• For safety's sake, always leave
enough space around the unit.
• Use the remote controller to turn
on the power.
• If the same problem occurs
again, unplug the AC power
cable and have the unit serviced
at the nearest service center.

second).

The unit uses a computer that on
rare occasions can malfunction
if affected by static electricity,
lightning or so on.
Unplug the AC power cable and
then plug it in again.

Cannot use the
remote controller
to operate the unit.
The batteries are dead.
Replace the batteries with new
ones.

The remote controller is out of
range.
Use the remote controller within
range of the unit.

There is an obstacle between the
unit and remote controller.
Remove the obstacle.
Strong light is falling on the unit's
infrared receptor window.
Prevent strong light from falling on
the infrared receptor window.
The mode of the remote controller
is improperly set.
Press the remote controller's AMP
button before operating.

The unit is set to IR = DISABLE.
Change the setting to IR =
ENABLE.

volume control

The unit has a surround DSP, which
can sometimes make a noticeable
